Activity 10: Find a Family Veteran
Activity: Find stories and information about relatives who have served in the Armed Forces.
Approx. Time Required: 15-20 min
Purpose: This activity helps us gain a deeper connection and appreciation for our relatives who served in the armed forces. It can also help us take pride in our country and create a desire to stand up for our freedoms.
Preparation: Login to Family Search. Gather names of family members who served in the Armed Forces.
Process/Ideas:
Login to Family Search
Click the “Activities” tab and scroll down to “All Activities”.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and then scroll right through the activities under “All About your Ancestors”.
Click on the tab for “Honoring Your Military Relatives”.
This page will show you all of your relatives in the military.
You can also search for your relatives in Family Search’s Military Record database.
You can also continue scrolling right and click on “My Relative’s Military Records” or any of the tabs with war records and search the military record database.
